"RED BBY" "The Renovation Job" a group show at the Tate Institute I was fortunate to take part in. Standing opposite the Tate and Lyle sugar refinery, the Tate Institute was financed by Henry Tate in 1887 to serve as a community centre ‘for the benefit of the industrial classes of Silvertown and its neighbourhood’. Serving as a library and air raid post, the Institute was renamed the Tate and Lyle (London) Sports and Social Club in 1953 and now has ReSpace Projects.
